Jatiya Granthagar Bhavan
The National Library building popularly known as Jatiya Granthagar Bhavan is located at Agargaon, Sher-e-Bangla Nagar, the North West part of Dhaka city. This part is well known as the second capital of the country. As per the master plan of Dhaka city, the major Government Key Point Installations (KPI) i.e. National Broadcasting Building, National Assembly Bhavan etc. are also located in the area. This zone is comparatively of high land and environment friend of the city. The building is far from flood zone. It is on 2.36 acre having 1,04,880 sft. plinth and 61,555 sft. carpet area. What the unique and salient feature of the building is it is embedded with the largest painting of the country in its of inside front wall. The building was built with red ceramic brick and its outlook is excellent. There are sufficient open space in its surrounding having plenty of green trees and flower garden in its front premises.

National Museum


The present Bangladesh National Museum (Jatiyo Jadughar) is the successor to the Dhaka Museum which was established by the British Governor of Bengal in 1913. The museum moved to its present premises in 1983. From the outside the four-stored building is quite impressive and inside, the 46 galleries have quite extensive collections although the displays are somewhat dated.

Awami League President Sheikh Hasina is received at the Logan International Airport in Boston by her son Sajeeb Wajed Joy, among others:
Awami League (AL) President Sheikh Hasina reached Boston in the United States early yesterday, some 40 hours after her release on executive orders for treatment abroad.

She was received by her son Sajeeb Wazed Joy and his family. Several hundred AL activists and supporters from different states and Canada gathered at the Logan International Airport to greet her. Bangladesh Ambassador to the US Humayun Kabir was at the airport to welcome her.

Talking to reporters there, she said people want the long-stalled parliamentary polls to be held without delay. They want handover of power to a democratic government after a free and fair election, reports American News Agency (ANA), a US-based Bangla news service.
Hasina, also former prime minister, said they have long been struggling for democracy. “Our objective is to establish a prosperous and democratic Bangladesh and for this I seek help from all of you,” she was quoted as saying by News World.

Jatiyo Smriti Soudho


Jatiyo Smriti Soudho or The National Martyrs' Memorial is a monument in Bangladesh. It is the symbol of the valour and the sacrifice of those killed in the Bangladesh Liberation War of 1971, which brought the independence of Bangladesh from Pakistani rule.
